Volkswagen Feeling Legal Heat Globally for Emissions Cheating Scandal
The $15 billion settlement the United States reached against Volkswagen has bolstered investors, governments and drivers around the world in pressuring the company to settle similarly. More than ten million of the eleven million vehicles that comprise the diesel emissions cheating are found outside of the United States, leaving the company in jeopardy of a potential total settlement price tag that goes well beyond what it had set aside to address the scandal.
