Polaris Off-Road Vehicles Catch Fire; Scrutinized by Consumer Watchdog Groups
Polaris Off-Road Recreational Vehicles Recalled
Keeping the “products catching fire” theme from our previous article on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 recall, recreational vehicle company Polaris Industries has issued a product recall of 13,000 off-road vehicles following widespread reports of engines catching fire, resulting in injuries, and a fifteen-acre forest fire!
The recall involves the 2016 Polaris RZR XP Turbo and RZR XP 4 Turbo recreational off-highway vehicles. The ROVs were sold in blue, gray, orange and red. They have two or four seats and a rear box with “RZR” printed on it.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the vehicles engines are prone to catching fire and injuring people, including a child.
The recall includes vehicles sold between August 2015 and July 2016 for $25,000 to $27,500.
