GM Facing Billions in Liability Due to Faulty Ignition Switches
GM is asking a judge to rehear an appeals court ruling that exposed the company to potentially hundreds of lawsuits and over $10 billion in liability for defective ignition switches. Lawyers for the company claim the judge made two critical errors when ruling against GM’s effort to use its 2009 bankruptcy to shield it from the potential suits.
