Defective Product Alert: Expanded Vehicle Recalls Cost Ford $640 Million!
Ford Motor Company Recalls Cars, Vans & SUVs: Is Yours Included?
A growing recall of Ford Co. cars, SUV’s and vans due to defective door latches that can open while driving, is going to cost the company an estimated $640 million. The price tag has forced the company to reduce its estimate of pre-tax profits for the year.
On Thursday the company expanded its North American recall by 1.5 million vehicles under pressure from the National Highway Traffic Safety Commission, NHTSC. The new total number of vehicles is now over 2.4 million!
The recall expansion includes the 2012 through 2015 Ford Focus, the 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape and C-Max, the 2015 Ford Mustang and Lincoln MKC and the 2014 through 2016 Ford Transit Connect small van.
