Judge Approves Settlement Over Mercedes Defect Suit
A federal judge in California has approved a settlement in a class action lawsuit brought against Mercedes-Benz over defective roof air conditioning in some of its Sprinter vans.
Customers claimed that the air conditioners leaked so much it seemed to be “raining” inside the vans.
The settlement extends the warranty on about 10,000 Freightliner and Mercedes Sprinter vans nationwide, attorneys representing plaintiffs in the case said.
The settlement covers U.S. residents who are current and former owners or lessees of 2010-14 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter 2500 or 3500 models with original-equipment rear air conditioning units.
