2009-2010 Nissan Maxima, Altima Recall for Strut Insulators

On September 10, 2009, Nissan North America, Inc. announced a recall of certain 2009-2010 model year Nissan Maxima and Nissan Altima vehicles, citing a problem with the suspension system. The upper front strut of the insulators may have been manufactured out of specification, which could result in a crack in the strut insulator, vehicle instability, and increased risk of crash.

The recall involves 26,398 Nissan Maxima and Altima vehicles. Nissan is notifying owners of the problem and will replace the left and right side front strut insulators free of charge at any Nissan dealership. The safety recall will begin in October 2009. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-NISSAN1.
