Perfect Flame Grill Recall

On November 18, 2009, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Health Canada, and Lucas Innovation, Inc. of China announced a voluntary recall of approximately 664,700 Perfect Flame SLG Series Gas Grills, due to a potential fire and burn hazard. The burners on these grills can deteriorate and cause irregular flames, leading to the lid catching on fire in some cases.

The recall affects all Perfect Flame SLG Series Gas Grills for use with propane or natural gas. The stainless steel grills are painted black or metal grey, with the following model numbers found in the compartment under the cooking area:

SLG2006B, SLG2006BN, SLG2006C, SLG2006CN, SLG2007A, SLG2007B, SLG2007BN, SLG2007D, SLG2007DN, SLG2008A

The company has received 40 reports of fire due to deterioration of the burners, with 23 reports of the lids catching on fire. One eye injury requiring surgery was reported, with 21 other incidents of minor burns to the hands, arms, or face. The defective grills were sold at Lowe’s stores in the U.S. and Canada from September 2005 through May 2009.

Consumers are advised to stop using the defective grills immediately and contact LG Sourcing at 888-840-9590 to receive free replacement burners or replacement lids.
